softlockup: minor cleanup, don't check task->state twice
The recent commit 16d9679f33caf7e683471647d1472bfe133d858 changed
check_hung_task() to filter out the TASK_KILLABLE tasks. We can
move this check to the caller which has to test t->state anyway.

Breaking lines due to some imaginary problem with a long line length is
often stupid and wrong, but never more so when it splits a string that
is printed out into multiple lines. This really ended up making it much
harder to find where some error strings were printed out, because a
simple 'grep' didn't work.
I'm sure there is tons more of this particular idiocy hiding in other
places, but this particular case hit me once more last week. So fix it.
powerpc/4xx: Necessary fixes to PCI for 4GB RAM size
The declaration of total_memory removed. Now including <mm/mmu_decl.h>
instead. Since total_memory is a phys_addr_t which is 64-bit on 44x and
is_power_of_2() works with u32 so I just inlined (size & (size-1)) != 0
instead.
Also this patch fixes default initialization: res->end should be 0x7fffffff
not 0x80000000.
[MTD] mtdchar.c: Fix regression in MEMGETREGIONINFO ioctl()
The MEMGETREGIONINFO ioctl() in mtdchar.c was clobbering user memory by
overwriting more than intended, due the size of struct mtd_erase_region_info
changing in commit 0ecbc81adfcb9f15f86b05ff576b342ce81bbef8 ('Support
for auto locking flash on power up').
Fix avoids this by copying struct members one by one with put_user(), as there
is no longer a convenient struct to use the size of as the length argument to
copy_to_user().

imx serial: fix rts handling for non imx1 based hardware
The interrupt handler for muxed interrupts (imx2/imx3) was calling
the rts handling subroutine if the RTSS bit was set.
(Which indicates the status of the RTS line), leading to an
interrupt flood on RTS bit low.
This patch fixes the problem by looking at the RTSD bit instead,
indicating a change in the RTS line.

There was added code in the driver to iterate across these attributes in the

[MTD] [NAND] pxa3xx_nand: moved nand definitions into shared platform header
This patch moves the exported datastructures from the pxa3xx_nand.c driver
into the <mach/pxa3xx_nand.h> header. This is a plain movement without
any modification of the attributes.
This is the first one of a set of patches which:
* allows to specify used NAND flash in the platform code and allows to turn
off the old way to specify NAND characteristics in the driver. This way did
not worked well as these characteristics depend on the platform and can not be
derived from NAND id alone.
E.g. some NAND chips share the same ID (e.g. K9K8G08U0A and K9NBG08U5A) but
have different timings (which are written in the common driver currently and
must be modified there).
* adds 'const' annotations at various places
Further patches will be sent to the mtd-list.

David Wagner added (among other things) that copy_to_user could be
probably used here.
Ingo Oeser suggested to use simple_read_from_buffer() here.
The conclusion is that proc_do_xprt doesn't check for userside buffer
size indeed so fix this by using Ingo's suggestion.

Linux/ARM currently doesn't support robust or PI futexes.
The problem is that the kernel wants to perform certain ops
(cmpxchg, set, add, or, andn, xor) atomically on user-space
addresses, and ARM's futex.h doesn't support that.
This patch adds that support, but only for uniprocessor machines.
For UP it's enough to disable preemption to ensure mutual exclusion
with other software agents (futexes don't need to care about other
hardware agents, fortunately).
This patch is based on one posted by Khem Raj on 2007-08-01
<http://marc.info/?l=linux-arm-kernel&m=118599407413016&w=2>.
(That patch is included in the -RT kernel patches.)
My changes since that version include:
* corrected implementation of FUTEX_OP_ANDN (must complement oparg)
* added missing memory clobber to futex_atomic_cmpxchg_inatomic()
* removed spinlock because it's unnecessary for UP and insufficient
for SMP, instead the code is restricted to UP and relies on the
fact that pagefault_disable() also disables preemption
* coding style cleanups
Tested on ARMv5 XScales with the glibc-2.6 nptl test suite.

avr32: Fix lockup after Java stack underflow in user mode
When using the Java Extension Module hardware, a Java stack underflow or
overflow trap may cause the system to enter an infinite exception loop.
Although there's no kernel support for the Java hardware yet, we need to
be able to recover from this situation and keep the system running.
This patch adds code to detect and fixup this situation in the critical
exception handler and terminate the faulting process. We may have to
rethink how to handle this more gracefully when the necessary kernel
support for hardware-accelerated Java is added.

CRED: Wrap task credential accesses in the JFFS2 filesystem
Wrap access to task credentials so that they can be separated more easily from
the task_struct during the introduction of COW creds.
Change most current->(|e|s|fs)[ug]id to current_(|e|s|fs)[ug]id().
Change some task->e?[ug]id to task_e?[ug]id(). In some places it makes more
sense to use RCU directly rather than a convenient wrapper; these will be
addressed by later patches.

We fix it by moving the actual freeing to outside the lock (the lock
now only protects the list).
The pool lock is also promoted to irq-safe (suggested by Dan). It's
necessary because free_pool is now called outside the irq disabled
region. So we need to protect against an interrupt handler which calls
debug_object_init().

/proc/partitions didn't use to write out the header if there was no
partition. However, recent commit 66c64afe changed the behavior.
This is nothing major but there's no reason to change user visible
behavior without a good rationale. Restore the original behavior.
Note that 2.6.28 has clean up changes scheduled which will replace
this rather hacky implementation.

sparc: remove CONFIG_SUN4
While doing some easy cleanups on the sparc code I noticed that the
CONFIG_SUN4 code seems to be worse than the rest - there were some
"I don't know how it should work, but the current code definitely cannot
work." places.
And while I have seen people running Linux on machines like a
SPARCstation 5 a few years ago I don't recall having seen sun4
machines, even less ones running Linux.

sparc64: Rewrite central driver.
This driver is now limited to just doing the basic clock board and FHC
chip initialization and registering the platform devices for the
per-board LEDs, which are driven by the new LEDS_STARFIRE driver.
The IRQ register handling is already confined purely to the device
tree code.

Fix problem with waiting while holding rcu read lock in md/bitmap.c
A recent patch to protect the rdev list with rcu locking leaves us
with a problem because we can sleep on memalloc while holding the
rcu lock.
The rcu lock is only needed while walking the linked list as
uninteresting devices (failed or spares) can be removed at any time.
So only take the rcu lock while actually walking the linked list.
Take a refcount on the rdev during the time when we drop the lock
and do the memalloc to start IO.
When we return to the locked code, all the interesting devices
on the list will not have moved, so we can simply use
list_for_each_continue_rcu to pick up where we left off.
When stopping an md array, or just switching to read-only, we
currently call invalidate_partition while holding the mddev lock.
The main reason for this is probably to ensure all dirty buffers
are flushed (invalidate_partition calls fsync_bdev).
However if any dirty buffers are found, it will almost certainly cause
a deadlock as starting writeout will require an update to the
superblock, and performing that updates requires taking the mddev
lock - which is already held.
This deadlock can be demonstrated by running "reboot -f -n" with
a root filesystem on md/raid, and some dirty buffers in memory.
All other calls to stop an array should already happen after a flush.
The normal sequence is to stop using the array (e.g. umount) which
will cause __blkdev_put to call sync_blockdev. Then open the
array and issue the STOP_ARRAY ioctl while the buffers are all still
clean.
So this invalidate_partition is normally a no-op, except for one case
where it will cause a deadlock.
So remove it.
This patch possibly addresses the regression recored in

power_supply: Support for Texas Instruments BQ27200 battery managers
These battery managers came in two different packages: one for I2C
busses (BQ27200) and one for HDQ busses (BQ27000).
This driver currently supports only the I2C chip version but the code
is designed in order to easily allow the HDQ chip version integration.

battery, for instance when determining which backlight registers to
read. This adds a simple call to determine whether there's an online

pda_power: Check and handle return value of set_irq_wake
The recent change in commit 2db873211ba47ef704c301f9ecf4a33413a0b649
forces the calls enable_irq_wake() and disable_irq_wake() to
be balanced. But if in pda_power_suspend() the call to
enable_irq_wake() fails (because attached gpio cannot wake
up the CPU), the corresponding disable_irq_wake will WARN().
Fix it by storing success/failure of enable_irq_wake().

UBIFS: improve statfs reporting
Make free space calculation less pessimistic and more realistic,
which in turn improves 'statfs()' reports. Now it lies by 10%-20%,
instead of 20%-30% (10% more honest).

UBIFS: remove incorrect index space check
When we report free space to user-space, we should not report
0 if the amount of empty LEBs is too low, because they would
be produced by GC when needed. Thus, just call
'ubifs_calc_available()' straight away which would take
'min_idx_lebs' into account anyway.

UBIFS: push empty flash hack down
We have a hack which forces the amount of flash space to be
equivalent to 'c->blocks_cnt' in case of empty FS. This is
to make users happy and see '%0' used in 'df' when they
mount an empty FS. This hack is not needed in
'ubifs_calc_available()', but it is only needed the caller,
in 'ubifs_budg_get_free_space()'. So push it down there.
